My wife Alice always says, "If you don't like something it is because you haven't done anything about". And, I have to admit it is the kind of attitude that has kept the two of us busy, busy, busy... going, going, going. She is a 'Shero' to me.
A man that I view as a 'Hero' is a man many of you may have never heard of, Tom Joyner. He recently retired at the top of his game as one of the most successful radio syndication ever with eight million listeners.
Alice and I have always been asked why we do so much. Mr. Joyner has encapsulated our philosophy into these two words, SUPER SERVE. Super service receives its reward. It also presents avenues for you to expand your coast as the scriptures teach. It has expanded my coast by allowing me to serve the community I love and the opportunity to reach for higher office.
Thank you to all of you that have supported me in the past and support now. I appreciate all your great support and love.
Here is an old picture one of my fraternity brothers from college posted recently. It is so weird to see us in 1980 (wow! 40 years ago already) walking around campus in shirt and ties and suits. You would think we were at work instead of school. Richard, Tyrone, Harmon, Marvin, Robert and Edwin, pledging Omega. Ron and Kurt getting us straight (LOL!)
Thanks for the memory Marv!
